Definitely not a losi. More resembles a associated, but I think it's some cheaper knock-off

Well I made a huge huge mistake and in trying to be the cool uncle to my 15 yr old nephew, I have told him I would take a "look" at this truck and see what the problem was. In all honesty I have absolutely zero expieirence with gas/nitro powered vehicles. Anyways I have been just looking it over and trying to find ANYTHING that could be wrong. Per my nephew once he gets the truck running it just goes at full speed in a straight line until it crashes into something. He has ZERO control over the truck. And upon a test he did when the wheels were off the ground, he could not get the truck to shut down. He yanked the batteries out eventually but it would have run wide open throttle until all the fuel was gone apparently. Any tips, advise, suggestions or more importantly ANY GOOD WWW resources would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend to download the manual now that you know what car it is and go through all of electronics and servo arm setup. Batteries could be dead too.

ok ill start with this
dont run it untill you can control throttle and steering on bench tests.
if you start it and cant slow it down dont waste fuel. there is a servo connected to the carberator and to stop the motor move the servo arm one way if it doesnt stop it then move it the other way. that will apply brakes and close the air intake forcing motor to slow and stop as you move it farther. also check if crystals are the same if its older or check reciever pack voltage and if its plugged in right

In the second picture from the bottom, the one showing the side with the throttle servo. Notice the spring under the rod that goes to the brake. That spring is zip ties under where the yellow servo t is. There is also the wire running from the (4) AA's in the same zip tie.
