1/8 throttle servo: which specs?
Hi,
I'm looking for a good bang for the buck throttle servo for our sworkz nitro buggy. Never had to choose a throttle servo (the nitro buggies I have were bought used and ready to go) so I don't know what specs are recommended. It's for racing only and I focus on precision and durability. It needs to handle high voltage also because I'm using a 2s lipo as receiver pack.
Any recommendation?

Specs vary with all servos and are not always the best guide as manufacturers and re sellers who re name them come up with their own ways of obtaining specs and don't have to tell you how they did it, Throttle on a buggy anything over 12kg should do the job fine.. all you need is enough clamping for the brakes
The Highest RC servos are well under rated in their specs compared to most brands
Ill find a link to a cheaper one that will do the job for you if your trying to keep costs down

if higher dollar needs to be spent to get a precise & durable servo, then so be it.. I don't like to change my stuff often and could always see if I can find one used

Hitec 7955 - $99 - lots of people have been running them on straight lipo for 4-5 yrs now and I've never had one fail. More than enough power.

200 oz or more and .10 or faster seems to work well on throttle. I have had KO rsx power servos on the throttle for 4+ years and never had an issue with them. The hitec have always worked well and savox are decent (don't last as long but cheaper) the futaba listed above s9352hv is a great servo as well.

I run Savox servos in everything. Yet to have issues.
Here is a list
Coreless Titanium gear servos
1258tg .11/444 @ 7.4v
1270tg .06/[email protected]
Coreless Steel gears
1267sg .09/[email protected]
1268sg .11/[email protected]
1271sg .08/[email protected]
1272sg .10/[email protected]
Brushless Steel Gears
2271sg .06/[email protected]
2274sg .08/[email protected]
2273sg .10/[email protected]
2270sg .12/[email protected]
Any of these will do the trick. Brushless run a little cooler and less susceptible to vibration damage and the likes. Little more money but worth it.

Kopropo rsx/bsx are the servos I'm using for steering and I have a 7940th aswell, it's super smooth. All the savox servos I had failed after a year and a half or so and I need something durable so I'd rather go for another brand.
the s9352hv looks very good, always wanted to try a high voltage futaba
would there be an advantage using a brushless servo for this application?
edit: soulcoma was faster than me and just answered my question

Correct specs for Savox 1270TG (Monster Torque) are:
Speed:
@6.0V: .14 sec/60
@7.4V: .11 sec/60
Torque:
@6.0V: 361.1 oz-in
@7.4V: 487.7 oz-in
Perhaps soulcoma meant Savox 1273TG (Ultra Speed):
Speed:
@6.0V: .08 sec/60
@7.4V: .065 sec/60
Torque:
@6.0V: 194.4 oz-in
@7.4V: 222.2 oz-in
I got these Savox for my buggy, but if price is not an issue, KO Propo is the way to go.

I use to run Savox HV servos, now run Highest RC DT2100 in buggy and truggy, awesome servos ([email protected]), super quiet, super fast ([email protected]), super smooth, the build quality is pretty dam impressive too, also they stand by there product, not like some other brands.

where are the "Highest" servos made?
I'm hearing more and more about this brand but they're hard to find in Europe

There you go, cheap strong servos you can trust, I've picked up brand new in box 7955 servos for 60$ do u can probably work this guy down or just get the 7950 for around 70-80 range. Can't go wrong with the hitecs even used they have never let me down...
