Well I put the front alignment plate back on tonight and it is a no go.If the front plate is off then I have plenty of contact but when it is on and the car is pushed all the way down on the wheel it just barely hits the wheel but not enough to turn over the motor.I am not sure what the deal is but I know that I will not go race until I have these few issues fixed.I know that if I flame out at a race and some pit guy(that I don`t know) is there to help me he will not be able to easily get it lined up and started. Not sure about the throttle/brake linkage either. When I was at the track and hit the brake full and let off the little slider that is on the shaft on the throttle side would stick just enough to pull the throttle out enough to make it creep forward pretty good. This to me is not acceptable because when I enter a corner I will not have effective braking therefore I will push in a corner initially.

The throttle brake thing will probably be fixed if I can find a way to hookup a throttle return spring.Just not sure as there is no hole to hook it too.

Thumbs up Pat....

Go get yourself a Losi Gas truck throttle return spring set. Hook it to your carb post and your opposite side motor mount screw. If your throttle servo looses power it will help pull the carb closed.
If you get your linkage aligned right it should work smooth and free. The stock linkage worked just fine on my car. 4 of us are running these cars and they are fine.

Dibs,
I'm coming to OKC! Maybe we can get a beer. I'll be driving the Orange Majestic H8 with a black wing.

Shim the starter motor so the wheel is up higher?

As for the line up, you could get the TKO starter box plate (which will DEFINATELY require you shim the motor in the box up). I use one with my H8 and it makes it a pretty easy drop on and start.

I don`t think you can really shim it up as then the pulley would rub the top inside of the box.Now if I cut the hole bigger where the wheel comes out and then also cut the little slots higher for the belt tensioner where the wheel connects to the mounting plate then I think it would work.I just don`t really feel right doing this but that is the way that I am probably going to go.I know that I read somewhere on the ofna forum where someone had the same issue and they said get a jammin or 7 flywheel but I can`t find it now.Any ideas would be very helpful at this point!!!!!!!1

Red face Flywheel....

Had an issue here at the shop with a guy not being able to start his car on the OFNA box.
After looking at the situation, two things were going on.
1. The flywheels were different sizes. We had 4 OFNA flywheels and they were 2 different sizes. His was the smaller one.
2. The motor in the box was very weak. OFNA saw this and replaced it.

Funny thing was the Mugen and the Works flywheels are like this as well once we went through our stock.

He is good now.
