Default Your recommended type of switch and why please?

Had some very bad luck with a switch (mechanical type) a couple of times and wonder what works best for you and why? Any tips or pointers are appreciated. Buggy is MBX6 and running NiMH pack now but thinking about lipo upgrade.

KO propo electronic switch. 4+ years in multiple vehicles never had an issue.
I have used straight deans micro plugs in the past as well just get the polarized plugs.

The only issue with KO is that they're expensive But in the grand scheme of things, it's better than losing an engine because you lose connection, or something similar.

None, just use a deans micro.

If your car is properly setup losing connection at the switch should be no more
dramatic than the car rolling to a stop. Runaways are caused by improper car setup and radio problems NOT losing power.

But you can't guarantee that everyone at your track will have a well setup car now can you

And how does buying a 50.00 dollar switch fix that? The only thing that having
a more reliable switch is going to cure is people who have there Spectrum failsafes
set wrong. And that's why no other radio company uses that goofy system.

So instead of throwing 50 bucks at a switch and thinking thats gonna keep you from having problems have someone at your track who KNOWS what there doing go over your setup and give them the money instead

Yeah the Spektrum failsafe is pretty rubbish. Only a loss of power from the transmitter sets it off, anything else and it thinks all is well.

I agree that the best course of action is to get someone experienced to look over the setup. The KO Switch is just an added layer of protection and peace of mind.

If your running a lipo receiver pack an electronic switch is a good idea as it has a low voltage cut off.I use the small protek switch that fits where a std mech switch fits.

Default thanks

I do have the failsafe set correctly and am now just using the plug and unplug method. Would much rather use dome sort of permanent on/off.

I have a radio fail safe and a short servo extension with the white wire removed coming out of the radio box on my 1/8 buggy. Plug in and go, no worry about power getting shut off because of switch problems.

I have had the wire break right where it's soldiered on a drama micro connection and cause an issue. They are small and after being unplugged so many times it failed.
