Default truggy tires

HI! Anyone have any experience with 1/8 scale truggy tires? Was wondering whats a very good tire for track conditions? My track conditions are pretty dusty intill the cars start making a groove/line/hardpack.(Southern Colorado dirt). Just have been running some Aka soft impact tires since may, and they are pretty much done! Didnt know if there is a better tread out there? Looking at Pro-Line blockades and holeshots. What is differance? Also, looking at Aka evo i-beam and evo city blocks.what is differance? Any insight would be helpful! Thanks all! Keep on racing!

Holeshots sound like they may work for you. Alternative would be gridirons (aka).

My local track sounds alot like yours. Starts off dusty but if they let it go, grooves up nice and then is really hard on tires. Gridirons worked well but wore out quickly. Switched to holeshots and have the same or better grip but longer life. For the prolines get the X3 or X4 compound as it wears better.

Take a peek at what the fast guys are using and go from there. Track to track conditions are different. Impact are a great choice.

I personally hate the fact of how much truggy tires cost, so I tend to purchase what can win BUT ALSO last. I love M3holeshots and they are arguably the best truggy tire made for any condition. HOWEVER at 90 a pop I rarely get them. I try to stay on Blockades or Impacts or Hybrids. they last a good bit and are competitive. Grids are good when that is the tire to run but I can go through a set of grids in no time flat!

I agree that truggy tires are pricey as hell. I have a hard time buying from my LHS at $40 a pair but if I need them to run up front, then most of the time I can find a way to justify it. Wife may not always agree

But keep an eye out on E-bay. You can score some gonga deals. I picked up a full set of premount M3 Holeshots for $50 shipped. Sometimes you can find some really good deals there.

And check out the manufacturers sites. AKA and JC have closeout sales about once every 2 months. I picked up some a full set of Hybrids ( no wheels) and a full mounted set of Stackers for $50 shipped as well.

The deals are out there, you just got to find them.
