Nitro RC Car Problems (Heat)
Hey there.
I have a Thunder Tiger EB4 S2.5 and i have recently noticed that my engine has been getting a little too hot in a short period of time, it reaches up to temperatures exceeding 310 degrees at times and will only run for a maximum of 15 minutes before quitting.
My high speed needle is quite lean but when i try to richen it maybe quater of a turn to half a turn, it just simply dies on me. I am getting the hint it is to do with my low speed needle but which way do i turn it to resolve this problem?
Thanks

I am no tuning expert but in my limited experience richen your LSN to where it is flush with its "housing." If that doesnt help then think about getting your piston and sleeve resized( this depends on age of engine could just be a bad tune). Also find someone who has been running nitro for a long time and knows how to tune and diagnose a bad tune, get their help and see if that doesnt fix your issues. Good luck

Hey guys great to see you on here today!! I have a question, how come more guys dont dial in the tune as much as possible on the box with the filter off so inside the carb can be SEEN!! So now you can see the idle gap during the tuning process and dial in the LSN that way with the pinch test to get really close. Now you can know for sure youll have the LSN at a good tune and the idle gap set correctly then you can put filter on and drive the track tuning the HSN and dial the low end and idle in again a bit more

And dirt in an engine will kill it quicker than you can stop it. I'm speaking from experience here. My engine sucked dirt a while ago and it instantly lost compression, performance went to crap, and had to get it repinched/resized.

You don't need to see inside the carb while tuning. Set idle gap to the right setting & then leave it alone, then go on tuning like normal, with the oiled filter attached & while running the car on the ground.
