Default What is the recommended lifetime of Nitro fuel?

Hello, I have full 1 gallon jug of 20% Nitro (Traxxas Top Fuel) that has been sitting in my dark closet for a year now. Should I throw it away or what do you guys think about this. Is it still ok to use? It never moved it sat in corner of closet for a year, bought it brand new. My room does get cold though so temp did change a bit maybe 55 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees...lol so it does fluctuate a bit in temp. Nothing I can do about this, ill not over buy next time. Thanks!!

If it's been opened and closed then moisture can get inside and that leads to water. No body likes nitro fuel with water , I suggest just tossing it. It does make a great weed killer though

I had a gallon of VP fuel that I forgot about and it was unopened, kept in the house for over a year, worked just fine.

If unopened it'll be fine. If it had been opened and then stored for a year is be cautious of using it.

Well I figured I would share my results. I went ahead and used the gallon I had and my truck started right up after a year of sitting. Tuned the engine and had it ripen around my house. The gallon was actually opened a year ago but it had the red seal cap and then the normal cap over it too, so it was completely sealed. Im not racing so its working good so far after 2 tanks. Thanks rctech community.
