Default Endust

Has anyone tried endust to keep the dirt off your nitro vehicles? I am looking at some of these expensive detailers like TrakPower speed prep and Protek Truguard. I use simple green to clean my rides and tires, it does good job of making plastics look new again, but need something to repel dirt and clay. I have heard that endust has the same properties, but I never liked the residue it left behind on wood. Does it work? Also does it work as a tire softener?

It works just as good as the rc branded stuff that is $8 a can. I buy cheap imitation pledge at the dollar store and use that. Their are a few RC branded products that are wonderful. Kalgard degreaser and RB exhaust protect. I use degreaser to clean my cars when fully assembled and don't have time to take them apart. You can spray it right on the entire car and them I brush off the dirt and blast with air and then wipe clean. Car looks brand new. The RB stuff prevents the grime from sticking to your exhaust pipe so it don't look like you dipped it in crap after 3 races.

I use Pledge on my buggy at the track. It does OK to clean the dust off after running..but I would not say it keeps it off..

Its off road its gonna get dirty/dusty. LOL

I have used Prep and shine, Pledge, and the Trugaurd stuff..nothing really did better or worse than the other.

To clean instead of Simple green...Try Greased Lightning Orange Blast. Works great and leaves no residue

Thanks, almost pulled the trigger on truguard, I may try some pledge from the dollar store.

Saw Dustin Evans using pledge at mhor and his 2.0 looked like it never even hit the track. How does it work on tires, is it as effective as WD40? We are still talking clay and dirt here...

Did you not post this on the Losi forums...!

I take out my engine and radio tray. I spray with simple green let soak for a sec then spray off with a water hose. (don't let water dry). Spray off with a air compressor. I then check all bearings. ALL. Once bearings are all clean and installed. I check and make sure all parts are moving freely. Spray down my chassis with Kalgard Prep &Shine or lemons pledge. Clean engine and check clutch. Install. I do this after a race day or few practice days. . I rebuild before any "big" races.

No, but I found your post very helpful on the Losi forum. Thanks for the simple green method!

Ever Armoraled an old Holden or Ford bench seat before ? then gone for a drive after shineing the old beast up & forgetting to fasten the seat belt gone around a corner & near slid out the other side ,thankfully i was hangin onto the steering wheel "just" as i'd Armoraled that allso ! yep slippy surface ! dirt don't stick easily !

I started this thread regarding one specific over-the-counter product for keeping dirt off my nitro rc's, but ended up giving myself an education on all sorts of products that will accomplish the same task and a few other "must haves." I am currently using orange pledge for dirt off, but here are some others:

Keep dirt off:

ProTek Truguard
Trakpower speed prep detailer
Armorall
Kalgard prep & shine
WD-40 (Water Displacement )
Pledge brand or the stuff from the dollar store (comes in lemon and OJ, but watch out, this stuff is made in China).

Keep rust off metal:
WD-40

Dry Lubes:
RZ-50
Elmers E450 Dry All
Dry Wax
Graphite Spray

Degreaser:
Kal-gard degreaser
Greased Lightning Orange Blast (leaves no residue)
Simple Green (not as good for diff grease)
Denatured Alcohol
Camp Fuel (Naptha Tea Bag or Coleman Fuel)

Tire Conditioners/Softener:
WD-40
Simple Green

The secret is out.... have fun and good luck racing.
