Anyone have a good shock setup using the ebuggy/truggy pistons?? the 1.4 or 1.5 X 5 holes.
Just curious to see if anyone has tried anything else other than the 8 hole 1.3s or combo pistons.

We almost always use these pistons when running on indoor tracks. Front shocks 35 and rear 30. Collin likes the feel of them better than 8 hole pistons indoors.

Oils are oils to a point. Another brand 35WT might be 5 or even 10 WT off of Losi's. So instead of running Losi 25WT in the rear shocks, you will be running AE 30 or 20WT in the rears now. Does that mean it is bad. No. But it means you may have to adjust your set-ups, IE... use AE oil in all shocks and you may need to experiment with what feels close to what you had. If you started with AE oils and know what works for you, then by all means.... go for it.

I put mine on 2 weeks ago and it deffinetly makes a difference. More so in Truggy as I tend to run a little more brake.
I used an old 8T steering linkage from the servo to the servo saver with ball ends.
But I had to drill the balls out for the 5-40 screws. Not hard. Just popped them out and hit them with a 1/8" drill bit.
Installed a 2mm spacer on the center diff to clear the brake cam ( mine runs to the left side of the diff mount and a 6mm spacer below the brace to level/ clear the tie rod from the servo to the tri-horn.
On my buggy, I used some 1/10 scale shock ends with balls and treaded a really long set screw. Didnt need to drill them out as they were already 5-40. I was able to use the right side of the diff mount with that one as it was way shorter but still used the same spacers as above.
I can get pics up if you need them.

I used AE 1/10 Shock ends and Blue Aluminum FT Balls that I had left over from a rebuild on my old B4.
The aluminum is easy to drill thru. With the steel, it can be a pain. Slow speed so it doesn't get hot and distort.
They come as a 4-40 screw size and you need to make them a 5-40 size to fit.

Did mine with the buggy steering link with shock end balls. No drilling needed. Only gave the truck done so far.
Jerm, does the buggy body clear the mod ok?
