Thoughts on my servo choices?
SC-1256TG for throttle:
Dimensions(mm): 40.3x20.2x37.2
Weight(g):52.4
Speed(@4.8V sec/60): .18
Torque(@4.8V oz-in): 222.2
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .15
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 277.7
Gear: Titanium & Aluminum
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Aluminum
25 Tooth Spline
Frequency: 250-333hz
Pulse Width Frequency: 1520
And SB-2273sg for steering:
Dimensions(mm): 40.3x20.2x38.5
Weight(g): 69.0
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .12
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 319.4
Speed(@7.4V sec/60): .095
Torque(@7.4V oz-in): 388.8
Gear: Unique Steel
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Full Aluminum
25 Tooth Spline
Frequency: 250-333hz

I plan on using a LiFE 6.6v pack to drive them, my question is, is the throttle servo fast enough?

What's good for torque on the throttle/brake side? I'm looking to maybe go HV now - so I'd like to get an idea of what else to consider.

I'm not a fan of the Savox servos and especially the LiFe batteries if you have a receiver that is LiPo friendly. The Savox servos just arent that reliable compared to other options out there. If cost is a concern, check out the Hitec 7955s, they're priced very well and perform exceptionally well (specs will seem low but remember they're rated at 6v but work great on LiPo).

I haven't had any issues with them, and have had good experiences, so I've stuck with them.
Flip side - years ago a buddy had a Hitec fry on him on it's 2nd use, so I've stayed far away.
I ended up pulling the trigger on the SB-2274SG.
Here are the specs:
Dimensions(mm): 40.3x20.2x38.5
Weight(g): 69.0
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .105
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 277.7
Speed(@7.4V sec/60): .08
Torque(@7.4V oz-in): 347.2
Gear: Unique Steel
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Full Aluminum

Frequency: 250-333hz
Pulse Width Frequency: 1520
I'm actually agreeing with you on the move to the LiFe packs - I'm now thinking I need to order a lipo receiver pack.
Any recommendations on receiver packs? I don't have any opinions on them, as this is my first foray into nitro in 10 years.

Can you link me to the Reedy that will fit in the MBX7R?

I Run this servo for both throttle/brake and steering. I will never run a different servo ever again. You will not be disappointed.

LRP battery fits perfectly , have one in both buggy and truggy . They work great . I charge the night before a race day but dont have to charge during the event . We run 2 ,7 min quals and then 20-30 min mains plus practice.

I run Savox servos and have in ALL my cars for the past 3 years. I have had GREAT luck with my Servos and one just went out on me after 3 years in my TRUGGY. Most of us know that Truggies are the hardest on Servos.
I have a total 12 Savox servos installed on my cars right now and I have not had any issues.... I think 3 years on one servo is plenty. I feel that I have gotten my moneies worth out of ALL my Savox servos....
