i didnt say you said that it needed upgrades. I was asking who said there was going to be a cheaper version. What i was getting at is most people buy buggies then upgrade them and they end spending the same amount they would on a Kyosho

Looks like Durango may have a significant update to the 408.

I would love to see Kyosho do a Tebo edition TKI3 with all the titanium bits and anodized hardware.

I'd love to get an "affordable" Kyosho kit for my son...but what does that mean? what candy are they going to remove from the chassis? was debating whether to buy him an inferno RTR and hop it up...

Please don't, it's based on the MP7.5 which was 10 years ago, then made with lowest grade plastics and pressed flat aluminum, then it comes with a useless engine which will make you disgusted with the hobby and creates the false image that "nitro is difficult to tune", but it's really just the shitty worthless engine that is impossible to tune.
I could go on all day. It's a steaming pile of dung!

Better to get him a nice 2nd hand car cheap, and fit it with a cheap Go or Alpha engine

alright 'nuff said. Everytime I talk myself into buying my son a RTR, someone backs me away from the cliff... just struggling to drop $1k on a car for a 12yr old. he's learning as a driver, but still a painful expense...

back to the subject at hand on New buggies...

I was at the US Worlds Warm-Up this weekend. The top TLR/Losi driver had many new prototype parts he was testing. Looked like shock towers, front camber/caster blocks. He had to cut out the inner wheel ribs for the wheel to fit with the new front end... was interesting. Didn't notice anything big from the Kyo guys. Wish Lutz was there with his prototype DNX408... there are some pics of it on neobuggy or some place... it is drastically different. I want one.
