not really a fan of pre-worlds. the track should be closed to worlds drivers for six months prior to the worlds. practice should be limited to 4 or 5 controlled practice sessions immediately prior to the start of qualifying. not every one can afford to spend that much time out of the country, the playing field needs to be leveled as far as track time.

Brent Thielke said that the pre worlds warm up race is useful as a tool to help with the experience of traveling with their equipment to a foreign country. The track testing is irrelevant because the layout totally changes for the worlds race.

Maifield's gonna take it, slipping and sliding across the finish on bald tires..

That is a good idea but the large teams has drivers very apable of 1/4 fianles in a worlds race who is not allocated to the worlds. Tema would send thoose drivers to the worlds tarck and not much is changed really. Track should be a new build and closed to the start of the race.

Posted on Neo-Buggy..

Pacesetter David Ronnefalk wrapped up TQ honours in the penultimate 5th round at the Worlds warm up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He recovered having suffered a blip in Q4 which went to Mugen's Spanish star Robert Batlle, with rounds one and two run yesterday, Friday's timetable promised 4 rounds. Ronnefalk continued his form in Q3, edging out Robert Batlle by 4/10ths, in Q4 some bad crashes and loss of momentum saw him produce a run to forget, although a last lap hero lap going sub 43 seconds raised eyebrows. Despite breaking a steering servo in Q5, Dakotah Phend has been driving impressively, the 15-year old Michigan based racer is here with his mother Nancy - on their first true overseas race, made all the more impressive given the 'European' style of the track - flat, technical and fast sections. AE's Ryan Maifield is another who's impressed, despite a very meagre allocation of tyres due to JConcepts' custom issues (using the same set in 4 rounds of quali) he's done well.
......
That’s rather amusing reporting. Wouldn't Thailand (same class, broke in the quarters as he was moving up IIRC) and Finland (electric, made both As) be considered overseas from the USA?

On the other hand isn’t it possible to drive from Michigan to Argentina? Or is the Panama Canal without bridges and considered a sea?

Please don't take this the wrong way, I appreciate and enjoy all the coverage we get, but just can't contain a little chuckle.

Whatever… Go Dakotah!
