No doubt the top American drivers will adjust....just look at Tebo's Q2 time

Layout is lame, boring and does not flow well.....and that ridiculous bridge

It's just a Warm Up race, so no need to look to deep into it....

Default Ronnefalk clinches Warm up TQ

Posted on Neo-Buggy..

Pacesetter David Ronnefalk wrapped up TQ honours in the penultimate 5th round at the Worlds warm up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He recovered having suffered a blip in Q4 which went to Mugen's Spanish star Robert Batlle, with rounds one and two run yesterday, Friday's timetable promised 4 rounds. Ronnefalk continued his form in Q3, edging out Robert Batlle by 4/10ths, in Q4 some bad crashes and loss of momentum saw him produce a run to forget, although a last lap hero lap going sub 43 seconds raised eyebrows. Despite breaking a steering servo in Q5, Dakotah Phend has been driving impressively, the 15-year old Michigan based racer is here with his mother Nancy - on their first true overseas race, made all the more impressive given the 'European' style of the track - flat, technical and fast sections. AE's Ryan Maifield is another who's impressed, despite a very meagre allocation of tyres due to JConcepts' custom issues (using the same set in 4 rounds of quali) he's done well.

Standings After Q5
TQ. David Ronnefalk
2. Robert Batlle
3. Jared Tebo
4. Ryan Maifield

Yea, those Europeans like their bridges. Had the same thing at the Offroad Euros. That track was just as boring as the one in Argentina.

Ofcouarse the layaout is lame, it does not suit the Us guys.... LOL

And the worlds when Hara won in US? That track was awsome as it was made all US style.... I am sorry to say this but when Hara won, i loughed out cheering when watching. You guys had it in the bag well before the event started :-)

Now on the serious side, drivers are from differnt countrys are used to different style tracks. The only guys that will very seldom get to drive on a track they really are best at is the UK guys as there will never be an astroturf track as a worlds event. If that would ever happend, top three would be UK guys with Boots, Lee MArtin and Darren Bloomfiled.

Building a track that does not favor one or the other is very very difficult i belive. That is why a world event should be 8 days. From saturday until sunday week after. No free practice. Evryone get equally track time and have to figure out setup and tires on the way. Evry part should be public avalible on cars, tires and engines 3 months prior to the event. This would truly show who is at his best at that race. There is absolutly no reasson to bring prototype part to a worlds event as there is limited tracktime to evaluete parts, engines and tires anyway as you need multiple track surface and conditions for theese prototype parts to go productions.

For me, i perfer the Eurostyle tracks as that gives alot more close racing.

Want to make things fair? For the real worlds race, they should build a supercross style track made completely out of topsoil with every corner being 30 degrees off camber.. so all of this high speed clay flat track testing is moot when the real race comes along. lol

I know that this is just a warm up race and the track layout will change a little but the Euro guys are looking good.. I still hope that an american driver or Tessmann gets the W at this race..

I don't really see how that's a surprise or upset?

Asian tracks are a lot more similar to US style - big, wide-open, lot of jumps - than European tracks. They may even be called super-sized versions of American tracks.

Default Argentina customs

When is EFRA going to come to the conclusion that the customs office in Argentina is corrupt? It always has been! This has happened EVERY TIME a r/c worlds has been held here. Shame on EFRA & whoever else decides that Argentina should hold a huge race!

Ruona has some valid points there and his displeasure with his customs experience is very evident. It's an unfortunate truth that many countries do not operate the state agencies with very much integrity. Hopefully companies will be able to find ways to support their racers at the worlds to the full extent of their capabilities without too much trouble. The $2500 customs fee for 3 boxes of stuff is way over the top.

The race is shortened by a full day - due to a low entry.

Word gets around. People are fed up with getting jacked.
