To race the RC8.2, it's just all standard stuff like any other 1/8 scale buggy. I'm just wondering why we need a thread for this?

I run:
- O.S. XZ-B .21 (watch out though, the engine just sits almost too far forward, the spur gear is barely on the clutchbell)
- Reedy 2035 Pipe
- Hitec 7940 Steering Servo
- Hitec 7954 Throttle Servo
- Aluminum horns for both for consistency
- Airtronics M11x with 92451 reciever (less latency)
- Protek Lipo reciever pack

I have a couple Savox, in my electrics. But speed and torque wise, until you get to the High voltage and brushless ones they're not really up for the task.

If you want savox I'd recommend the 2271 (super high speed) or 2274 (high speed) for steering and the 2274 for throttle.

You could get away with the 1256, but it will feel sluggish. If you don't want to spend as much as the brushless servo's are, then the perfect middle ground is the 1267 steering and throttle.

You want a 1256 on the steering and a 1258 on throttle and brake! The 1258 is faster. They are great servos. If your getting spektrum rx/tx, get a glitch buster! They are around $5 and worth every penny! I have a werks b6 and a clocked b6 pro engines for mine. The stock b6 is a GREAT engine and more than enough power when tuned right...

2 Hitec 7954's

I don't like savox, they drainnnnn your rx pack way too fast.

If something goes well with the rc8.2, its will go well with ANY other 1/8th scale race buggy.

I had futaba's a while back, few years at least. Nothing but problems for me, given I didn't buy the 200 dollar ones, but never went back. Never had a problem with hitec in years, have yet to have a problem with savox, but my next choice will be those badass radiopost ones.

Basically if you want really good servos that will last a very long time, you have to be willing to fork out a decent amount of money.

Yes it does, but if you want one of the best engines, get a Novarossi P5, or a Novarossi BTT if you have a little extra money to spare, and a 9901 pipe.
