Questions?? Could someone please help me with some info

Ok so it's short and simple
Looking to trade my Mugen brushless truggy for a buggy I can race.
The two offers that interest me are a Mugen MBX5R and an Agama A8 Evo. I currently have two mugens and I know nothing abOut Agama.
How does the Agama compare to the Mugen? Would it be wise to choose that model? I know with the Mugen I wouldn't have to buy all new parts
What would you do?

Had it been a MBX6 it would have been easy for me, and I would have said go for the Mugen. Since the Mugen in question is the older MBX5 I will say go for the Agama as it is a never design.... Or just get a MBX6

Okay thanks I appreciate it.
Does Agama win races? Are they unique?
I can't afford to buy one so I'm trading and if I got a mbx5 I could still use some my parts.
Is it easy to get parts for the Agama?

mbx5 is too outdated to win races. you need an mbx6, and i would get that over the agama, 1. because mugen racers are plentiful and parts are readily available at most hobbyshops, 2. because not many people race agamas and I havnt seen a hobby shop carrying their parts, 3. mugen has an excellent reputation, handles great, and is high quality.

Tracking if I can find an 6 owner that would trade me for my Tekno 5T that would be awesome.

Thanks everyone but I think I'm going to go with the MBX5R
I already have another Mugen so parts will be cheap

be a best bet...the the MBX5 is still fine....
remember a "Driver" wins races not the "Car"
there is a local guy running a Kyosho Kanai 777 just kicking everyones tails
in his class......
even when he has to run "Expert/Pro" with some of us he "IS Right On Par"
he never crashes, and keeps cool !!!

when "Measureing Split seconds" yes sometimes newer Designs will Help
but only when a Driver is "Consistant" in there skills.......
as drivers progress in there skills they get misconceptions the previous car
was Inferior....but it is just sometimes there "Skills Improve"
if just having fun, some good club racing the 5 will still "WIN" anything you can put in front of it.....
if deciding to compeat in "Major" nation or State wide events?
may want to go with the MBX6 the are a few Geometric changes to help
with some track conditions that are more "Present" with events at higher
levels..........
never to say can not be done with a MBX5 but a good set up will need to be
right with the drivers "Abilities"

with the 5 also you may be able to retro-fit some parts saving you some good cash......
with the 5's try different setups the Mugens are Quite reactive to small changes...
there designs are close with Losi and Agama ..........
cars like Kyosho,Agama,Losi and Mugen companies did there homework
to find settings that can be about 80 to 95% close to 99% of track conditions.
so your in pretty good hands !!!

the bigest changes you'll notice will be camber, ride Height, and toe settings.
a good investment would also be a set up system even a Inexpensive one
will be fine, no need to spend 150.00 or more on fancy ones....
but to have something to help more than "Eyeballing" camber or toe settings
will help allot ...not to mention you'll notice the difference !!!
sometimes all it takes to make a old car feel "New"....

Thumbs up

Extremely good post sir! I would be doing occasional club racing and I'm already familiar with the platform plus have tons parts from my two Mugen truggies.
Greatly appreciate your post sir and I'm sure it will help others. If its alright with you I'd like to make a post quoting you modifying something's like taking out my buggy name and make it general. Is that okay?
Again thanks though. You put a smile on at least one person face today!

Why do you always use so many "" when posting?.......

Super "annoying" to those of us with proper grammar "skills"....
