It would greatly depend on what you plan to do with the car.

If you just want something to bash around, it will work pretty well, but parts support is going to be on the thin side.

If you are looking to get into racing it will do okay, but the age of the car is going to cause problems fairly quick. Again, parts support will be an issue, not to mention the design of 1/8th scale buggies has evolved a lot. Basically if you are trying to take racing seriously, your money would be better spent on a newer car.

If you are a serious racer (I really doubt this, because someone that knows anything would not have asked this question), that car would be an absolute waste of time and money. If (like me) you rarely crash, are only satisfied with your car after making the right setup changes, and all your lap times are within .5 seconds of each other, that car is a complete waste.

There are going to be some people that tell you it is a great car, and you should get it and not listen to me, but I guess I just get satisfaction out of this hobby differently than most others. There are a lot of people that have a huge throbbing erection for the old Ofna buggies, but I just don't see it. I guess they are just too cheap and generic for me. It seems like there are a lot of people that get them second hand for cheap, then dump a bunch of money into them, only to outgrow the car shortly after getting it going.

unless its completly ready to run and in great shape, motor is not worn out/ bent or broken pieces, and its an extreamly good deal..... other than that, no.

there are too many better, more updated cars around that will be easier to wrench on, find parts for and be easier on your wallet.

Like the other guys have said it all depends pin what you wanna do with it. It is am old design and newer stuff is easier to work on and get support for. Posts are still out there for out on Ebay. I got a used roller for 50 and it will serve me well for what I want which is mostly bashing with some informal races here and there. It allowed me to spend the $ on an engine, pipes, radio add servos. Of its cheap and complete them go for it.
