Hey guys,

Need some advise/opinion. How many tires do you guys bring when you go for race.

The race will have 3 heats of 7 mins each and 1 main of 15 mins (1 main if you didn't get bump up).

Currently I'm bringing:-

2 sets of iBeam Soft
2 sets of iBeam Supersoft
1 set of iBeam Medium
2 sets of Impact Soft
2 sets of Impact Supersoft
1 sets of Impact Medium

Is it way too much? Why I'm asking is because I need space and the tires are taking to much of it. If you were to be me, what will you bring? Tks

unless it is an extremely abrasive track, you should only need 1 set of each. if you still need more room and it is going to hot, leave the ss at home. you are only looking at a max of 40-45 min. of running so you should be good. i normally have about 15 sets of tires with me, but i have a wider selection of tread patterns than you. i am looking to narrow down the tires i run so that i can save room also. doesn't seem to matter what you do, that 1 set you leave at home will be the 1 you wish you had! lol

I will usually bring a set or 2 in 2 different treads in soft compound for each car I run. So running 3 cars I usually end up with a bunch of tires with me and I rarely even go through 1 set

I would say leave the medium compound tires (unless it is abrasive) and bring everything else. It sucks to be at a big race and say "I wish I would have brought........."

I bring everything I have, except for those I know will not work on the track I'm racing on.

Mediums on the rear can be handy to loosen the car up.

I only buy soft or M3 compounds and I bring all of them.

I bring all that I have. But once you know what treads and compounds work, you can usually run an entire race on three complete sets. Figure 1-2 sets for qualifying and 1 set for a main event.

I normally call in advance the guys at the track and ask what tires generally work best in that track, and i will take two sets of tires recommened by the guys at the track, then two sets of tires similar to the recommended tires, hey you never know, sometimes the recommended tires dont work the best for you.

On top of that you have to consider how the track changes throughout the day, in terms of temperature moisture and time. The track at mid day is generally going be very different at night time. So you have to take that into account.

I normally end up with 5-6 sets of tires at the minimum. I dont tend to grab everything i have like some folks do.

For most tracks here in florida i run m3 blockades for the qualifiers and m3 or m4 holeshots for the main when it grooves up.I want to experiment with maybe m2 blockades for the 90-95degree temps so my tires last longer,the holeshots.....eh they are a 1 run tire anyways.
