Without doubt, the Associated SC8.

SC, do you mean short course? Unfortuntely people do not race short course nitro like 10th scale, Its all buggies and truggies. Sometimes you'll see people bashing 10th scale monster truck intros around the track for fun but no racing.
Sure would be nice if the manufacturers would make nitro 8th scale short course trucks

Depends on the track. If numbers are low or whatever, SC8's can sometimes run with the buggies and/or truggies.

I have an SC8, and it really is a great, tough, fun RC. BUT - just my opinion - it sucks on a track - on a rough track anyway. My setup is probably way off, but still.. Get some air under the body off a jump, and becomes a total crap-shoot.. It would be a lot of fun on a very smooth track without all the ruts and divets my local track has..

As is I keep my SC8 basically as an engine break-in and tuning platform to have next to my Associated buggy.. The SC8 is really good quality. Have tons of gallons through it, and it has given me zero issues. Bumpers break if you jump a lot - there is a special one available on ebay though that is a lot tougher.. BTW, the SC8 is much better with a buggy .21 engine and a 17T CB.

ACTUALLY 1/10 truck looks like it may make a come back. AE just reeased the sc10 nitro gt. Those might grow on the old school guys and won't be suprised to see gas truck grow again. Sure would be cool!

Well, as with all things, set-up and driver are key.. The SC8 is just a mix of Associated buggy and truggy parts.. The big dumb body and cage is what might make it clumsy.. But all SC's are clumsy afaic..

I can't imagine 1/10 nitro SC's taking off anymore than 1/8 SC would... With 1/8 there are so many more engine options to name just one ex.. Buggy tires, buggy engines, buggy electronics - all work on the SC8...

Anyone have anything to add now that there seems to be some 1:10 scale added to the line up?
OFNA has 3, I don't know why they just keep remaking models under different affiliates. They have the Hyper 10SC, Jammin ?, and the Nexx10
Losi has the Ten-SCT with the 3.4 engine, looks sweet.

I am probably unaware of others, if anyone knows the deal with the 1:10 nitro SCT's and which to go with let us know.

I have my SC8 pretty dialed in. I had to do alot of changes and add some weight here and there but all the headache and work payed off big time. I can run with the truggies any day of the week. Its all in the setup.
