I am new to buggys and nitro so is there a differnts between buggys and brands and are some brands bad please help I need help picking one and I was hoping to get a cheeper one and dose it matter when they were bought compared to the new ones and are they hard to sell and do they hold there money please help and thanks

Hemme, for that sort of money you will only get a decent used buggy chassis.
then you will need to spend double that again on motor/pipe, servos, radio gear, battery, tryes, starterbox, fuel, glowstarter, and tools.

Buy a good brand of buggy off a racer, it will have been better looked after and be very careful if you have to buy a 2nd hand motor, radio and servos etc.

That kind of budget is tough. Maybe you can try those RTR but I think you still need to spend around 300 and above.

Second hand will only get you the kit and you still need the servo, engine, pipe, receiver, battery, transmitter, nitro, tires, wheels, tools and a bag to carry those stuff.

This is not a cheap hobby by any means. They best deal out there is probably the losi eight 2.0 RTR. I think you can find it for around $650. That gives you everything you need to go to the track except fuel. If you were to buy a kit and build it you are looking at over a $1000 easy depending on brands and how fast you want to be. If you find a deal for $200 then you will be getting what you pay for. You will be much happier saving up and spending the extra money on a nicer buggy. If you have a local track go up there and talk to the people their and see what they recommend i'm sure they will be glad to help.

I have never ran one but seen them VERY sparingly at the track. I would say no for racing. They are very budget oriented and you would be spending a lot of money on parts to keep it running. Enough money that you should spring the money and go get a used Mugen MBX6, Associated RC8, 8.2, or Losi Eight 2.0. If you plan on being mostly a basher I would give it a thumbs up. I think if I was really crafty and made smart buys I could piece together a decent buggy with servos, pipe, engine, and tires for maybe $500? But you buy a used engine, it runs for 1 gal, and you have to spend another $200+ for another engine? See where I am getting at? Although if the OFNA buggy is all you can afford I would say go for it, and you can upgrade later, at least it gets you in the game!!!!!!

watch craigslist you might get lucky but it is easy to put that much in a car every couple of weeks
