Default Nitro Budget Racers Thread!

So i know a lot of us are on a tight budget these days and cant afford the latest and greatest or brand new stuff every weekend. I figured people like myself could have a place to discuss tips and tricks to save money, share results, and of course personal mods to our cars that we use instead of bolt on products.

Buy high end stuff right off the bat, it will be the cheapest in the long run. Exceptions being Turnigy battery packs, they're killer.

This is the truth, and I have figured out the hard way. You will end up with cheap stuff that doesn't perform and then you will just end up buying high end and can't give away the cheap stuff.

Very true. I have made cheap stuff work, but i try to find good deals on higher end stuff, it pays for itself in the end. My buddy learned the hard way with integy, even after countless warnings lol.

We take really good care of our team members while doing our best to adhere to Vendors requests not to sell their stuff too Cheap. We always advise our team members to support their local shops though as the shops usually provide the tracks and where would any of us be without the tracks!
As a shop owner I am constantly blowing out items to make way for new inventory or just to move stuff that is not selling. Right now I have all my VP pro tires on clearance for $30 for 4 pre-mounted tires in any color or compound I have in stock! Old style AKA truggy tires are on blowout right now also for $50 for 4 tires, rims and foams ( unmounted-You GLUE )

It's nice to have vendors that care in this hobby. Back when I raced mx, it was all about the Benjamin's

if i could do it all over again tho, i'd probly not do a dam thing different due to the knowledge i gained from it

i hate to say it, but the Losi camp has the best bang-for-your-buck RTR on the market right now....everything in one box all for @$600....just replace the servos with quality ones when you wanna race and your set....i still don't personally care for Losi products, but that by far is the best deal on the market today....
