Gulfcoast Raceway @ Mike's Hobby Shop In Houston, TX.
Great race management, never rained out, tons of pit area, food and concession, covered and great lighting awesome hobby shop, Could not ask for a better place, race or practice track always ready to go.

Quoted from Ryan Lutz

Today was qualification day numero uno here at the fabulous Gulf Coast Raceway in the frigid deep south! I was always under the impression that it was warm down in south Texas but I guess mother nature had different plans for today and tomorrow. Temps into the 30′s in the morning make for a cold start. At least the facility is amazing. If you haven’t been here you should put it on your calendar to visit. Covered offroad, onroad, huge hobby shop. They got it all! Let’s get to the racing here at the R/C Pro National Finals.

Nice track but nowhere near as good as The Fear farm here in AZ. Everything might be bigger in Texas, but not your RC track in this situation

Well I have to say our own CRE Raceway.... covered pits, awesome night lighting, Asphalt pits...Large covered drivers stand...And a track surface with soo much traction your shoes will squeak....100% Canadian black clay.....When the track is prepped there is soo much traction you can hardly spin your tires...

booooo...lol - for two reasons, one, that whoop section, and cause I broke an arm while checked out in A2 lol.

Seriously though, Levi's layouts are real sick. He's had some great ones - the Sidewinder layout in '10, the Nats warmup race, the ROAR Nats, and the current one are all great layouts.

I'm kinda partial to Joey's 2012 Dirt Nitro Challenge layout myself - with 600 racers pounding the track, not one section of that track was blown-out for the mains and it made for some awesome racing.

We have bigger ones, Prob not as big as Fear Farm lol, but this is the only one that has the luxury of rain protection. Nothing like planning a big race, everyone travel from out of town, then get rained out. So Literally Gulf Coast Raceway has you covered.

Just wondering why mega smooth and lots of traction is good? Isn't that for onroad

I'd pick something with some really rough blown out corners as it adds to the skill

I agree 100%...
I just visited there last month, I was out in Phoenix working. Best facility ive been to hands down, 3 tracks (1/10, 1/8 and 1/5) so theres no compromise between the guys who like nitro and the e guys.

Thats our problem in FL, you have 1/10 guys who dont like to run on big jump 1/8 tracks, and 1/8 guys who think the 1/10 tracks are too basic.

Great tracks and facility Fear Farm, cant wait to come back in November!

thought this would be a fun topic....

The Gas Champs layout at Thunder Alley is pretty sick...

I always liked the Silver State layouts, but they were so blown out by the mains !!!

That is a sick track. I really like all of the elevation change. Just add some super big bowled out berms (like below ground level bowled out) and it would be just like the track I am building once I win the $500 million lottery tonight. Everyone is invited!

The flat tracks w/ jumps everywhere are boring. It's all about step ups and downs and Dragon backs!
