What makes Kyosho shocks so good?

Not about durability
Ty ran the Kyosho shocks more for the length (the geometry of the LP2 arms and the SNR towers) more than anything else.

The only time you really ever see people run different manufacturers shocks is to test different lengths.

Yea the AE was looking great til it broke in the 2010 worlds. X-ray would be the Ferrari, Kyosho is then GTR

This championship argument is worthless. AE ALONE has almost double that. AE and Reedy arguably the same brand, have more than double.
And AE has had vehicles competing in COMPETITIVE categories with more consistency than kyosho. Most of the earlier 1/8 offroad championships for kyosho where mosly running against themselves.
And Im a Losi guy now running Durango
This championship argument is worthless. AE ALONE has almost double that. AE and Reedy arguably the same brand, have more than double.

Old Platinums were pretty awesome but I'm not sure there has been anything all that special about the others since. Their x-rings on the other hand, I love. Still not sure why companies use o-rings given the small surface area they offer compared to the x-rings.

I think since Kyosho have been around for so much time it has a lot of knowledge on materials and tolerances. I think AE has made a lot of effort to improve it's kit quality they have develop their first 1/8 platform for over 5 years now.

B.c. before Thunder Tiger aka Thunder chicken bought out AE they made all of Team Associated parts. It was farmed out to
Taiwanese manufacturer b.c. it was cheaper.
So if you love AE shocks then you LOVE TT shocks.
Is that right? lol

Finding vehicles that arent made in China is pretty tough now. The AE products, regardless of where they're made, have proven themselves on track more than any manufacturer on earth (and most combined). China will build to whatever spec you give them; if the quality is low, it's because the spec and QC were low on the part of the customer, not the manufacturer.

On the other hand, if kyosho shocks were so good, why did pavidis use Fironi shock to with the WC?
Its for geometry/length, nothing to do with hand assembled by virgin kyosho products.

Thunder Tiger has produced some nice stuff over the years. The EB4 S3 was an awesome project. The chassis ended up being the limiting factor in the end but the design, execution, and parts quality was top notch.
Finding vehicles that arent made in China is pretty tough now. The AE products, regardless of where they're made, have proven themselves on track more than any manufacturer on earth (and most combined). China will build to whatever spec you give them; if the quality is low, it's because the spec and QC were low on the part of the customer, not the manufacturer.
