At our cabin, we have a 2hp compressor and a Eu20( 220V) Even at 5 degrees celsius, the Honda pulls the compressor like a breeze :-) Cabin is also located abaout 3000-3300 feet above sealevel.

I have the eu2000, its worth the money and now they come with a 3 yr warranty, as for air compressors its hard to find one that pulls less than 10 amps. I'm using a pancake style from Harbor Freight it uses 2 amp I thank i paid $40 with a 2 yr replacement wty for $9.

Take a 8000 BTU window AC unit, it's good for 350sq feet, it runs at 720 watts but it pulls about 2000 when it kicks on (because of the compressor) that's why it wont turn it over...

What a lot of people are not understanding that a genny might be rated to run the wattage listed on a box or the unit it's self but what a lot are not taking into consideration is the start up wattage units pull.

You always want to buy a genny on the overkill side to be safe. I have a Champion 1200-1800 peak I use for myself and maybe one other guy on the road racing, a Generac GP3250 when I'm going to be pitting with a few others, it runs blower fans, all the chargers and some loud music with plenty to spare! A GP8000E to run my house if and when the power goes out.

Buy big, you can always not use all the power it has to offer, buy small and you cant get more out of it if you need it.

Besides, I run 75 to 100 feet of 12ga and 14ga cord, all of the genny's are plenty far enough away for the "loudness" factor, can't even hear them over all the nitro's anyway....

get a quiet one. if not, get a 300 foot extension cord. nobody wants to listen to those things all day. some people have no consideration of others. Even at nitro races, nothing worse than the guy with the coleman generator, 2 gallon compressor that runs non-stop and the clapped out motor being bench tuned for six hours straight.

+1. Sitting next to someone else's generator grinding away all day gets quite annoying.

300 feet is a football field Do you know how much electric is lost in a cord that long? TONS! 75-100 feet is plenty far enough away. I can put a 3250 in front of my car, run a cord directly behind my car to a ez-up and barely hear it running...

You can't move or ask them to put if farther away or even plug in? It's funny how a guys hearing "generator grinding" magically goes away once he is plugged in

LOL. Amen to that!! I see a lot of good pro drivers tuning for what seems like 30 minutes before each qual or main. Good grief. And it always seems I pick the pit spot right beside them.

I'm going big with my generator.

A/C overhead in the trailer.
Multiple flourescent lights inside
Probably a couple plug in out side lights
Chargers for 1/8 electric and 1/8 nitro batteries.
Radio, probably without the bumps
7 gallon air compressor

Watts, and watts, and watts of power. LOL.

I've seen a few of these at the track. It will prob. be my next generator. Not as quite as a honda but not much louder. WAY less noise than my troy built contractor grade gen. It has good wattage to 3500 W with 4000 surge.

If it's not a Honda or Yamaha we will let you use our generator to keep the noise down. That's how we roll. Honda 3000W runs trailer with 5-6 racers and conpressor and trailers air conditioning. You get what you pay for.

We did this exact thing at silverstate a couple years ago with my buddy's Honda 3000...and then there was peace in the pits
