Default Online purchase for car kit

Dear all,

Have anyone of you purchased a kit from overseas online store before?

Feel like getting a Mugen Seiki MBX6R from USA since the selling price is cheaper than in KL.

Is this type of RC car kit a taxable item in Malaysia?

Thank you and hope to hear from you all soon.

If you're willing to wait 3 weeks for your car I don't see what the problem is. Make sure the company is reputable though.

Time frame is not an issue to me and I believed buying from states is safe to do so.

What concern most to me is the customs duty since buying a kit will come with a big box that will attract the eyes of the duty officer.

Just because the company has an American address does not mean you can't be scammed. It doesn't even necessarily mean they are actually in the u.s.

Criminals come from the u.s. too.

Thank you for informing. I will need to bargain with the local distributor to get a compatible price instead of buying overseas then.
