Default Ways to get your wife involved in the RC hobby

Thought I'd post this and get it started.

My wife had just finished scrubbing out the sink and boy did it look nice. My wife was sitting at the kitchen table reading and I had just finished watching Rooster Cogburn (sp) on the TV when I decided to go clean some buggy tires. Instead of going outside, in the dark, and using the hose, I thought it would be a good idea to come inside and talk a bit with the wife while I scrubbed my tires. Kind of a way to get the wife involved ya' know, let her know that I take care of my stuff.

Anyway,

I start scrubbing away and the conversation went kinda' like this:
Wife: "I just cleaned the sink, what are you doing?"
Me: "Just cleaning some tires"
Wife: WHAT ! WHAT TIRES??

Here's where I take the opportunity to teach my wife a little something about tires.

Me: "My Buggy tires. These are AKA gridirons in the soft compound and they hook up pretty good on our blue groove track. You can tell they are..."

Wife: *Incoherent screaming begins*

I didn't get all of what she said but I was able to pick out a few key words: "KILL" and "STAB" were in there along with a few others that would probably get me banned.

Yea she was a little upset but for a few brief moments we were "Talkin' RC" together and it was great. Take the time to get your wife involved with your hobby, you never know where it may lead.

Dennis

Haha! My wife has already decided that she hates everything RC. This will never change. I think your wife is in the same club.

Nice, I just washed a few sets of tires in the sink and like you, did it right after she did the dishes, cleaned the sink, and counters. I had dirt and soap flying everywhere and exclaimed, "whoop!" I could feel her eyeballs piercing a hole in the back of my head and she yelled, "what did you do?" I muttered, "uh, nothing..." To that, she replied, "you better clean that!" She didnt care about the sink or counters but I got soap spots on her bookshelf aquarium that sits in the window above the kitchen sink

My wife doesnt mind the hobby at all and has been my pit crew for over 15 years now. We have a lot of fun at the track and she does a great job refueling the vehicles for me. She says it's cheaper than having me at the nudey bars

My wife helps out a lot. Whenever I drop screws she is able to find them. I need to get a bib with a gutter system or something. She also designs all of my shells and does my parts inventory.

She doesn't mind me enjoying the hobby. She knows that if I don't have a hobby the likelihood of me being mean to kind old people is very high.

My wife considers the track my social club. She wants no parts of it.
