Also look at the height of your motor mount and see if they are high enough to use roto start or pull start. Secondly, check the chassis and fly wheel if they will be big enough if you choose to go "starter box" route. These may upset you if they dont workl after you spent so much money.

Bargain. Get rid of the engines, clean the cars, check the bearings and buy a good engine and pipe. Also check the servo' s for damage.

Bub, you are so out to lunch, first off if you want to race, you can only run a .21 size engine.
second you cars will not stand a chance against the new platforms, it is not just the looks, suspension geometry as a lot to do with it. And what do the pros use? just fallow Neobuggy.net.
You have 2 bashing kits.
A lot of people here have tried to steer you in the right direction, I guess you don't listen.

Lets clarify if OP is racing on a organized track event or racing with friends on the street. Hyper 7 is reasonable platform for rookie. Also, looks like he has a tight budget.

Also, in regards to your hyper 7, you need a wing, a 1/8 nitro buggy running without wing is weird and won't drive normal, zip tide your battery to the right place that is inside Hyper 7 logo, use double side tape to fix the receiver inside the receiver box. Set the throttle servo right, including front and rear brake and idle throttle. Use proper exhaust springs to hold the pipe...
