For those of us that don't keep up with ROAR truggy wheel/tire details, care to elaborate?

in 2009 Proline came out with the VTR, a truggy wheel with a buggy style mounting bead. ROAR's rule made them illegal because of inner diameter of the tire was 4" while the rule only allowed for a inner diameter of 3.75". removing the tongue from an older truggy wheel to make the tire mount like a buggy, it made the truggy tire illegal to use on ROAR events.

this summer, Jconcepts made their version of the VTR which was dubbed illegal at the ROAR nats in june of 2011. AKA, said they were waiting for a rule change before they would bring out new tire designs, and now the rule is changed. There are other benefits to the rule change like lighter tires for less rotation mass, and better turning.

Glad to see this, because I hate mounting truggy tires on the old style bead. Much easier with the truggy bead..

But it also means there will be a whole bunch of AKA Truggy tires for sale cheap now.. LOL

Anyone know where the new truggy tire/wheel rules are at? The most recent news I could find on ROAR's website related to the class is a 2010 rule book and also them considering body rules from 2010.

Standard, same phase out as the buggy line

YES, more dense.

For now; Grids, c.block, i-beam, and the new impacts only.

I linked the AKA thread a few post above where I explained a little more of the changes. I just felt the information should stay on that thread.
