Dam sounds like it needs tons of hop ups on this Kyosho Truggy mind as well get something better as a RTR . The Helical cut gears oh they can handle power just fine my RC8TCE has them and i run my truck as electric with a brushless motor/lipos and no issues at all no wear on them ethier that ive noticed.
Much better than straight cut gearsin my opinion.

The reason I said it might not handle the power was because of the type of metal used and how thin the fins are.
I owned a Mikado Logo electric helicopter running 12s lipo with helical gears and they are strong as hell. It's just that I think the kyosho gears are not made of strong material. I could be wrong, and I hope I am but I will soon know for sure.

The quality isn't the greatest but I want to see what the driving experience is like. I want to be fair and really run it before I write it off.

After heating up the engine to 200 degrees and priming the engine, it fired right up with no issues at all.
I also have to apologize for commenting on the servos earlier. It was totally my error. I installed a dead battery pack so the servos didn't function correctly. My mistake.
I like the fact that this buggy comes stock with rear mud guards..
Although the shocks are very cheap, they have hardly no "bounce" and dampen surprisingly nice. The rubbery wheels might actually be helping a bit with that also. I also think the will grip very nicely. The wheels however, are quite cheap, thin and have a crap load of flex.

There is a bit of binding with the current steering setup if you happen to turn the wheels at full shock droop. Flipping the screw so that the nut is on the bottom solves this issue.

The hinged battery box doors are a nice touch that I really like as well as the brake bias which is a nice thing to have if you're into that..

Loving the updates. I'm looking into getting this trugggy so it would be great to hear your final verdict on it, seeing as you seem experienced
