Default Big Bore Direct Fit?

Does anyone know if the new big bores that come stock on the D8 are direct fits for the Lightning 2 series buggies? Or would the D8 shock towers be necessary too?

I don't know about specifically about fitting the D8 shocks on the Lightning....but on some of the other older buggies (like the Kyosho 777) I believe you also had to change the shock standoffs to basically move the top of the shock away from the tower due to the increased diameter of the shock body to prevent it hitting the tower etc...

IF on the Lightning there is a screw that goes through the tower and then through the standoff... you may be able to simply use a longer screw and then some spacers between the tower and standoff to achieve this. If they are similar to the Losi or Durango standoff which are in 1 piece and have a nut on the back you'd possibly need to look at changing the standoff itself...

Other than that, it should be ok providing they are similar/the same in length and there aren't any issues with clearance with things like the rollbars or driveshafts... I wouldn't imagine you'd need to look at changing the shock towers though...

There were some Lightning 2 big bores I think.....and I believe Hara ran these at the 2008 Worlds on his D8 with a taller rear shock tower....
