1/8 Buggy Body Thicknesses
 

I'm curious as to what the thicknesses are of the losi bodies, the jconcepts bodies, and the proline bodies.

I know the Bitty Designs 8 2.0 body is .04" thick-but how thick is the losi body (EU?)

How have your guys losi EU bodies and the bitty design bodies held up?

Just mesurred mine. Thinnest spot is .032" by the mud gaurds and .055" most everywere else on the losi EU.

That being said losi's 1/8 shells are some of the longest lasting ones out there.

well not "Exactly Sure" the thickness on the bodies nowdays?
but will depend on where they buy there Polycorbonate product from?
and how they Mold it?
but lexan thickness are .020, .030, .035, .040, .045, .050 etc.
for the most part,
we do the same for when we make "Signs for Gas Stations" ,Fast-food places
etc.
some places use a Positive and Negitive parts to some molds,so they get
super sharp lines etc. and the parts are "Pressed together"
some like most bodies, the lexan is heated up then brought over a mold.
so sometimes the Thickness will vary..........
thats when you'll find some areas thicker in one spot than another, etc.

our friends over at D&B Designs make bodies as well...
they use the .045 on the buggies and truggies and there SC bodies...
not sure of any one elses prices?
but for the Losi style EU body there 17.00
the other bodies are 15.00 for all the other buggies...
and 20.00 for the SC ones.....
i think they have one that looks like the HotBodies "Trick" body too?
and the Truggy ones are 20.00 and 21.00
except the new one that fits the Kyosho truggy? i heard in the stores was
like 48.00...????
but the guys at D&B have it for 22.00......

anyways thought would toss that out there for some infor for anyone....
