Default Phone speedometer

anyone else done this? i got a speedometer app that goes off the GPS. i tested it in my real truck and it was dead on, strapped it to my rc10GT and got 36mph with stock gearing. i think with a little bigger clutch bell i could hit 40

anyone else strap their $300 phone to their $300 RC car? lol

now to test the B4,lol

How did you sit on the RC car to watch the display (heavier springs and shock oil?) or can you run at 36mph next to the car?

it has a "max speed" setting. it saves the highest speed reached until you reset it

I used the GPS from my car once to speed check my rc10gt. untill it did a back flip and skidded and messed it up.
Now I use a garmin forerunner 301. I bought it on ebay just for this purpose. it is smaller and lighter than most smart phones and I mount it with double sided tape.

The Mytach watch is a very neat gadget, for sure with its software.

I did a similar thing with my gps (garmin nuvi) attached it with double side tape in my truggy, I was testing tune pipes and went from 32 to 36 mph with different pipes, after a few runs the gps came flying off the truck and it broke the power switch making it unusable.
