couple noob questions

I just acquired a losi 8ight 1.0 with a lrp.28 motor.

I started it up and it idled very high, i just figured that it has been sitting for a while.

I drove it around the yard a bit hoping the idle would lower, but i noticed that as soon as i let off gas, it braked. How do i adjust the braking of it and how to i turn the idle down?

I am using a dx3c with a spektrum 3100 reciever, i thought i might have to make adjustments with the conroller, but i dont know what to do.

Any advice will help, thanks!

The brake issue might be a linkage problem. But then again, I am a n00b too....

High idle is probably a result of the carb needle settings. Sounds like you need to retune.

In regards to the brake, it's either the brake linkage set up improperly, or your throttle/brake trim on your remote is set too far back, so that its "center" is actually pulling a little on the brake. You need to set things up so that at neutral, the linkages are not pulling the brakes or the throttle. Once you have that set, make sure you check your throttle and brake endpoints, so that the servos don't try to pull too far and break things, or of course, not pull far enough and not take advantage of full throttle body travel.
