Default Please ID my Inferno

I've owned Inferno's from the first one which I think was a Burns and still have an old USA 1 (nitro) that uses the same chassis. I bought this used one and it seems to be in pretty good shape just dirty.

I think it's a MP777 but it's confusing because there seems to be many different MP777 series cars.

Thanks for the help.

It looks like a sp1 with sp2 towers on it but it might be a sp2 the sp2 had a little longer chassis

I measured the chassis and it is front edge to back edge 15.5 inches.

Without taking into account the bend it's 15 and 3/8th inches and measuring the bend it's 15.5 inches.

Thanks.

Default I believe it's a MP 777 SP2

I downloaded the three manuals for the MP777 and it matches in every way a SP2.

There are not many differences between these cars as far as parts however there are some distinct differences.

Shock towers, both front and back, different on all three.
The chassis is etched (milled) only on the SP2.
The MP777 uses dog bones at the wheels.
SP2 chassis is 15.5 inches in length.

I didnít find out the length of the SP1 chassis and if anyone knows please let me know.

99% sure that's an SP2. It has SP2 springs, towers and chassis. If memory serves me correctly, SP2 and SP1 had the same length chassis, but the engine was further forward on the SP1.

The towers have more adjustments on the SP2 and even more on the WC rear tower. The towers look SP2. The chassis is longer on the SP2 and so is the rear drive shaft, rear chassis brace I believe. I believe it is an SP2 as mine measures 151/2 also. I still have my SP2 and alot of new parts, uni's, new wc shocks and springs, bodies, etc. If you need info or pics let me know. The front unis are 1.5mm longer than the rear and that is why they have the bump on the shaft. The uni's are also the heavier ones. The WC edition has the black light weight uni's, darker blue springs and a different rear tower. The front steering knuckles look to be racers edge maybe?

Looks like an SP2 to me as well. Sounds like you've confirmed this though.

Thanks.

This was sold to me as a different Inferno and that's fine. Seems like a well built car. My neighbor is really into RC and we're going to race out in the front of the house in the spring. It's a good car and with a OS-30 in it it should have some good torque.

It's fun building new cars but it's really fun tearing an old one down and making it new again. I have a metal shop, milling, lathe, torches & etc. and I just really enjoy making parts from scratch.
