hi, i was wondering if anyone had any idea how these 2 diffs would compare in terms of strength:

standard mp777:

the conical cut in the ve gears looks like it could be tough but i dont know much about there rep.
i have a mp777 i have converted and to brushless and ive stripped 3 diffs already: one standard mp777 diff and 2x neo diffs i installed (they were cheap but it turns out the gears were made from soft cheese) any info would be a great help, cheers, Tom

shim the diffs tight they should hold up better.

yeah true enough but the neo diffs i bought are like budget, cheapo metal ones- i wouldnt call it aluminium but its a soft light alloy and its piss weak. i recon these conical ones could be good,there steel. i know the standard bevel cut ones (the original mp77 ones) were strong but it looks to me like these others could take a bit of curry. anyone else have any thoughts?

Just like NV529 stated, all you need to do is shim them properly and put some syntheic grease on them and you should be fine.

yeah righto, but what do you think, conical or bevel? they have to be replaiced so i need to decide which to buy.

Hey mcmayhem, i converted a mp7.5 to brushless and replaced the standard diffs by the conical ve diffs immediately. had many runs, never any trouble. The standard diff's gears are made of very soft material indeed and very often there are only 2 small gears inside instead of 4. The ve diff has 4 and is made out of a lot better material. I'm satisfied with them!

thanks ivar! thats the answer i was looking for! yeah those stock cheaper kyosho one are made of a soft alloy rather than the steel ones that you have in either the mp777 or the VE vertions, the strip if you look at em wrong!.
i like the look of the conical VE (madforce) ones and there cheep to, infact ive got ahold of a bloke who is selling me a whole inferno ve for parts with spare diffs so hopefully that should sort it out! thanks again mate.
