Default Setting up shocks - I'm clueless!!

So I'm starting to really get serious with my 8T 2.0 and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about setting my truck up for race day but I'm at a stand-still when it comes to setting up my shocks as far as oil wt, spring rate, and travel.

I know that everyone has their own opinion as to what they prefer but I'm mostly here to find out what determines the way you set up your shocks (track conditions, temperature, handling?)

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Default JQ

On JQ products website there is an excellent document called The Guide. It has a bunch of information on set up. There should be set ups from team drives on the Losi website as well.
