Russ, Shaun, thank you for all the support, after 5 qualifiers in Pro Buggy I wound up 2nd in the C-main and bumped from the 15 min C-main to the B main. Where I then finished 5 th overall. The B-main was 30 min and had a stacked field with names such as Team Associated's Kyle Skidmore and David Joor and Losi's own Keevin Sharp. So it was a tough crowd for sure, the track layout and surface was excellent. I got a good start B-main coming in as a bump and worked myself into 5 th early in the race, but was taken out by a wild driver and wound up playing catch up. Couple of mistakes wound up costing me any chances of bumping into the A-main, but overall I had a great time. My BR-5 was excellent and I am looking forward to the Texas Shootout. Big Thanks to Mike Russ for all the pit help and Trey Morrow of Go Engines. I will be posting my setup for this race shortly.

I finally got to run my Pro Kit yesterday. Thanks to Russ for getting me the new chassis. But for having the arm issue and not driving a buggy in so long the buggy actually felt great. felt planted and took alot of tumbles just to recover nicely and keep going. cornered and took off great with the Alpha Orange head in it. I am hopeing this week I can loose the sling and maybe drive with my arm free and move around like I usually do. No complaints from me yet on the buggy...now Hunter is a different story....SOMEONE FEED THAT BONEY KID A SAMMICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! J/K Hunter ya know yer my boy...

Took a long lunch today and tore into my new kit. I noticed when setting the backlash in the diffs 2 shims on the gear side will hardly fit down into the case. When I do get it squeezed in the back lash seemed to be the same. What is the recommended shimming for the diffs?

Allen.. Im running 1 shim on the gear side, none on the other side in the rear. The front ended up with 1 shim on each side. Check and make sure your pinion is seated tightly also. Ive found that these diffs do not need to be shimmed real tight like some of my others in the past.

I run both front and rear diffs with both shims on the conical side(gear side) and have since I started running the car. Make sure the shims are both flush when sealing the gearbox or you will bend them up. You could do 1 shim on both sides I just don't prefer that much play.

I was also at the 2011 RC Pro Finals with Ed. My first 2 rounds of qualifiers on Wednesday werent the greatest. The buggy felt great but I was plagued with a strange engine issue. The 3rd round I ended up with a 2nd place in that qualifier. For thursday I made a rear sway bar change and also an engine change. The next 2 rounds went without an issue and gave me a mid C Main qualifying position. I came out with both barrels loaded and finished with a bump to the B main. I changed to a set of AKA Impacts with red foams for the B. (had been running Impacts with black foams) The start of the B had me dead last but thanks to a big pile up and a easy start I ended up all the way to second in the first corner. The first 11 minutes went ok. I couldnt push as hard as I wanted due to the increased traction the red foams provided. At around the 11:30 mark I lost gear mesh and my day was over. The buggy felt great and I am a little disappointed in the 10th place finish but there is always next race!!! Thanks to Ed, Russ, Hunter for all the help and letting me bounce ideas off you guys....

My setup for this race is as follows:::

FRONT:

5K diff
37.5 Losi shock oil
1.4 pistons
Blue Springs
1* antidive insert turned down
Ackerman-center holes
-3* Camber
-2* toe out
Camber Link mounting-middle
Shock Length-107mm
Center top upper shock mounting position, inner bottom
Preload-12.75mm
2.2 sway bar

CENTER:

5K diff
13/46 Gearing
Approx. 70%/30% brake bias

REAR:

2K diff
35wt Losi shock oil
1.4 pistons
Blue Springs
1* Antisquat insert turned up
0* rear toe insert
-2* Camber
Camber Link mounting-middle/middle
126mm shock length
20mm preload
Outer Top upper shock mounting position, outer bottom
2.4 sway bar

Alpha A872
0801 Pipe
VP Powermaster 30%
OS P3 plug
ACS Clutch System (Black Springs, #3 Position)
AKA Impact (Soft) with Red Inserts
ProLine High Downforce wing
Stock Body

Anyone tried any aftermarket bodies. I tried the d8 by the chassis guards are a little to wide. The length was good.
