Interesting shock towers on David Joor's buggy. I wonder if those are avid or AE prototypes.

They look similar to mp9 but I'm looking at an mp9 right now. There different

Looks like a machined copy of the MP9 towers. Probably designed for the stock bulk head bolt pattern and lower so the shock achieve more droop since the MP9 shocks are shorter.

Thumbs up first rc8 mods

hi rc8 kit lovers since whent out in 2008
i still have the first rc8 since the car whent out and have tried everything and i am still running the car but is a frankestien and i the new ones cant catch me
this are the the mods i have on it
#1 steering mode
#2 gridrc shock towers
ofna jammin captured hinge pins rear and back makes the car stronguers unbrakable
#3 big bore shocks
#4 team losi 50mm turnbuckles
biguer screws for the arm limiter do the chassis

6-king heads clutch
7-king heads front and rear hubs
8-king heads front and rear everything
9-spoiler rear custom mod closer to the car
10-ninja jxb01 and i rebuild the engine with ebay bearings and piston kit and still the best had a osvspec ebmods and was a beast before
11-os.2060 pipe
12-futaba servos brushless
13-all cermic bearings everywhere
and still love my old car
i copy ryan mayfields setup i met him down in landfill rc track in puerto rico and got pictures of his car and saw a few things he was running
oils 555 diffand 35f and 30r

i also have the truggy with everything and the (ofnacaptured hinge pins ) and a os speed

i make the car unbreakable and have done other mods and is unbreakable red locktide is better than blue

Sort of, although I'm not speaking for David at all, I think the resemblance was more a result of what he was trying to achieve with different geometry more so than trying to copy K towers.

I don't think he was running K shocks this weekend, though I didn't really pay attention to both of his cars. I know he had HB caps and K springs on one, that was all I really noticed.

I asked him about them a while ago when I first saw them in person. He just wanted more inner holes to lay the shocks over more. So the outer hole on the tower is the same as the inner hole on the stock AE tower. He had them made for himself as one-offs. I have no idea if he's planning on releasing them as an Avid product.
