Jammin X1 - so close yet so far

Jim that new bod looks great! I'm not sure which I like better the body or the paint. I guess I am going to have to order me up one and I don't even have the buggy yet. LOL

I guess I got a bad taste for Jammin in 05. 8th scale was very new, so new I was the 2nd person in the area to buy one. So I got the RTR , soon after I added engine, pipe, 1 peace mount, and chassis brace. The car was somewhat fast but it always felt on edge. I guess the Pro kit would feel much better with the stiffer chassis and metal hinge pin blocks.
So I am leaning more to the Mugen in 06

upgrade to all the pro parts and you will have a fast stable car! a couple firends of mine drove my car. one had a xray and the other had a mugen (but picked up a thunder tiger deal so now drives that) and they both said it was a very stable and easy car to drive compared to their rides.
mayb you dont have a good set up? what type of serface are you running on and what is your set up?

I went with the A. Drake setup. The shock pistons are bored out to the setup as well. It feels good but for some odd reason it would just get loose or jump crazy out of the blue. My friend has the same buggy and his did the same. Plus it lacked corner speed, compared to other buggies.

i tried the drake set up and found it to be hard to drive and be consistant with it. i have been fooling with my car alot more and have found a nice set up that works really well. has nice breaks, more than enought steering, stable, and jumps extremely well. if you would like the set up hit me with a email and i will send it over. Get rid of the those bored out shock pistons and get some stock ones, then put 27.5wt in the rear and some 40wt oil in the front, I find that works very well. Doesn't bottom out everywhere like that drake setup on the jammin site. Find Aaron Waldrons setup in this thread (he posted it a few months back). I think its a very good setup, jumps awsome, good through the bumps and corners very well. I really hated the Drake setup on the jammin site, there is almost no pack at all so the buggy just bottoms out on everything, great if there arent any jumps though, LOL.

I spent a hole summer season on this buggy and it made me very mad because I never got what I was looking for. The sad thing is I never tried that many setups. I went with teh Drake setup about 1 mo. into racing and stuck with it. I blamed it on the RTR kit an Jammin. It almost makes me want to not buy a Mugen and try again.

Are many of you guys running the standard hubs on your X1's or have you switched to the MBX5 prospec hubs?
