I am interested in purchasing a 1/8 scale buggy as nitro is pretty much all that is run local.

As I don't want to spend alot and the vehicle will pretty much be a basher first, I have looked at ofnas various offerings and the jammin buggy (please see my other thread concerning ofnas other buggies, need info ).

For me, the Jammin X1 RTR would be what I would purchase if I went that route. I need to know the following:

1. What all does it come with out of the box include oils, etc.
2. Are the Diffs already filled?
3. How are the instructions for the buggy?
4. Is the .26 engine respectable and easy to tune?
5. What support equipment should I pic up for the RTR?
6. How does this compare to the Hyper 7 PCR RTR?

I think thats about it. Thanks for any help beforehand!

Cain,
Xtreme R/C did a RTR 1/8 buggy shootout a few months ago. And the top two buggies were the Sportwerks Mayhem and the Jammin RTR. The Mayhem won overall because of a stronger engine. If you are deadset on getting a RTR get the Mayhem.

Cain,

I have to give another vote for the Mayhem RTR. I've got one of those and a Mayhem Pro and there is very little difference in the chassis, shocks and springs. The RTR has all the important stuff from the Pro. The Mayhems dominate in the RTR class at my local track mainly because the Sportwerks .26 is stronger than all the other RTR offerings. I've also got a Jammin X1 Pro which I race in the expert class.

Hey anybody else hear about Jammin releasing an updated kit soon? Xtreme R/C mentioned it in there cage match review in the current isssue. Just wondering if they were going to release an update package for us who already have the buggy.

I got it just like that from the brand new kit. Fully optioned including the one piece engine mount, 5mm shock towers threaded suspension pin and also the new brake system. It was given by Hongnor as a prize on FEMCA race and I managed to bought it from my friend who is lucky enough to won that

You dont need to modify them anymore because ofna released the brake update. I dont know the part number but go to nitrohouse.com then to Jammin option parts and scroll all the way down. the are called brake special pads or something like that.

Daniz24,
where are you from, because Jammin has not released the updated kit yet?

Later,
Brady

Cain,
honestly it is waste of time trying to compare which one handles better than the other.Again the magazine that did the shootout said they were to close to call, but since they had to pick a winner they went with the Mayhem because of the better engine. Also these buggies are ready to runs so the quality of parts to improve handling are not top notch. Seriously, YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THE MAYHEM. make sure you pick one that is supported by you local hobby store.

Z4cky,
How much of the crowd pleazer body did you have to dremel to make it fit or did you have to at all?
