Well guys,

Im switching cars, im leaving my Jammin FTE behind and getting a Hyper 8.5 + 16mm Big Bore Shocks for the 2008 season so now im full with Hype (i already have the truggy).

I had the Jammin FTE for 2 years and 2 months and gave me nothing but happiness (renewed it twice) and good results on track. A very good friend got a Hyper 8.5 and i've been testing it a lot and i think it have more of my style than the Jammin on driving it.

Any opinion about the switch ?, any advice on the car as soon as i get it ? (common replacement parts to get ?).

Well, hope to have success on this desition (had couple offers from other brands on sponsoring me for the 2008 season but i decided to go on myself on the 8.5).

I will have the kit on my hands in 8-10 days.

cya !!

Believe it or not, I still run the original X1 shocks. Yep the twiggy little bouncers that came with the Pro kit. I almost got the 13mm shocks and now the 16mm shocks are here and I am thinking I should upgrade for the season. However, I have been putting off the switch because the track that I regularly race on has virtually no jumps or bumps. It's a flat, short, turny track. It has only 2 "jumps" that are merely wooden ramps that send you no more than 4 feet off the ground. There may be 1 or 2 whoops but other than that the track is flat as a pancake. Therefore I don't need all that much damping.

Does anybody have an opinion about what I should do?

All the best Tabushi. I'm sure you can excel in anything you put your mind into.

Hi Macnkitty?

I'm still with my old pro kit. on the hand, im still with the lower rank racers too. So I guess I need to change to this newer improved chassis of the X1 and BB shocks.

** been reading this thread silently and Hope to see more success result and some tips from you all. I have been busy with on-road locally. Been messing with the Serpent 720 '08 all this while

See you all around. Keep the thread alive, ok.

Hey JFC! nice to see you are still around here. I have been messing with my on-roaders too, being that it is too cold here to do anything with the nitros. Go Tamiya!

I hope this hasn't been posted yet, but I think I saw a decent deal on the new shocks. Hopefully these are the same shocks, just packaged differently.

Anyway, I'm always trying to save a buck and if these are the same, why not.

yes, those are the HN 16mm shocks, they were probably taken out of one of the new X1X kits

thanks for the info.

One other question. I'm also looking at some shocks that have an ID of 12mm. Did Jammin have 12mm shocks before the 13mm Big Bores? (if that is how they are measured) I guess it's possible that the measurement is a bit off.
