I dont feel there is much difference between this and the X1CR, infact you can swap a number of parts between them without needing to modify anything. The one thing I like better about the Kyosho is the quality of the parts, the drive shafts and drive cups seem to wear out far too fast on the X1CR which was the main reason for me wanting to move to another car.

I'm not trying to bag the X1CR as if you can afford to replace parts regularly then it is a very, very competitve buggy. The Kyosho parts are a little more expensive but they seem to last way longer.
i respect your observations and opinions, and frankly i think that people can get different kits as the manufacturer does sometimes tweak each kit to include better made parts/molding/etc. i have found that my X1 holds up very well. in fact, i have not had to replace anything on it for the 2 years i've had it but the plastic wing stay posts (which i replaced with aluminum units) and the front plastic suspension holders (which were plastic when they came on my car, but again i replaced it with aluminum units). other than that it's just been the usual maintenance and a few hop ups here and there (those parts were perfectly fine as is). i find the X1 very easy to drive, even when it's not set up well at all. i've driven Mugens, 777s, XB8s, Hypers and i have found that the X1 is the most well rounded package. i'm not saying that it's mediocre all around, just that it tends to be equally good in all areas. Kyosho's are known for great manueverability, and Mugens are known for their stability and jumping ability. however, they don't shine in other areas. also, i really like the parts availability of the X1 and the price. Kyosho/Xray is expensive compared to others, and yes you do get better materials generally, but most people do not notice a difference (you being an exception). again, i am not making any malicious comments, just "venting" my opinions and observations over the years.

Wink x1

I agree with you 100% macnkitty2002!! I'm not as fortunate as you, driving all those different models, and I'm still getting the feel of rc cars (sometimes it's hard to tell a difference when you do adjusments),

but I CAN say that in 2 years only 2 pieces have broken, and I assure you I have crash-tested my two X1's thoroughly!! hehehehe the rest is only wear and tear and some hop-ups.....

From what I collect from my friends and their cars, the x1 may be slightly less competitive (I mean less agressive) than other cars, but it is balanced all arround and easy to drive......

This may be back in the thread but theres 148 pages to sift through. Does anyone have the Big Bore shocks yet? Is there any advantage to those over the stock ones and if so what are they?

Greetings all the X1 fanatics.
I havent been around a while. Been busy opening my new hobbystore.
Just popping in to say hi.
Tabushi the young one is growing.
I see youve switched to Jammin engine.
Well It so happens that I have too been racing the Jammin jpx21 for a while now and just broke in a second one.
Its a pitty these beuts are so underated.
IMO its the best I have had so far. You know what I have been playing with.
The engine just doesnt lack power, its super smooth, it idles low and forever, wont die for anything, consistent, excellent runtime and the build qaulity is second to none.
My choice of race engine for the new year.

my Jammin JPX .21 is a madman for a motor, running it with an OS 2050 pipe. great fuel milage, but no loss of power. sure its not the overall fastest with that pipe, but what a track runner it is.

If i wasnt selling all the nitros next race season would surely be ablast!
