i had my CF plate on for one year and it never broke, but i replaced it for the KHZ plate just to be safe. i've heard of people breaking them, but only after some serious head on crashes.

To stop the breakage issue with the top plate, people have been putting cone washers on it above the screw that hold's the chassis brace. I'd do it on all the screws. It will just help spread the load over a greater area.
Thanks for the advice.
I have only had my FTE for a week now (this is my first buggy). It certainly handles very well and is fast . All the parts seem to be very good quality and the kit went together easily, I am glad I bought it.

I was wondering if any of these tires are any good? And witch compound is the softest? (WD, BKD,WS)
Has any one tried them?
And they are only $23 shipped for 4 mounted tires!

These look like CF knockoffs. [-X

I noticed in your pics that you have what looks to be like a King Headz front plate installed. Does the graphite one that is supplied with the FTE kit break easily?

Thanks man,

Nope, i never broke a front plate on almost 2 years of racing with my Jammin FTE, the thing is that couple friends broke the plate (very HARD nose-diving crashes) so i installed that upgrade just prior to the 2007 Southamerican Championship in March 2007, its a Fioroni one.

Only upgrades im using are :

- Fioroni Chassis (2006 christmas present from my wife).
- Aluminum radio plate posts.
- Fioroni front plate.

cya,

Crono RS5, OS V Spec, or Jammin .21. I really like the Jammin, but I have the OS in right now.

My Jammin .21 is killin it! Now with an after market head it has awakend!

Bigsal-Those tires blow. They are so hard it's like you're on ice. Also, the drive hex's fit loose. And they are not compounds, they are abreviated descriptions-bkd=black dish, ws=white spoke,wd=white dish and so on.

Go 21 5 port. Go 21 7port, P5 RS5, JP5BN
They are all my favourites.

Any engine will do for your buggy. Get the something that suits your pocket now and upgrade later as you become better with your racing.

cya,
From experience you dont need all the hopups. It wont make you any faster.
I have a fully hopped up X1 with all the available upgrades and its cool but not necessary.
Anyways I am very exited as I will be recieving my new Big Bores for my buggy next week.
I will take some pics for you and maybe a review on how I find the differences.
The kit comes without springs. You get 2 types hard and soft. I'll try out both.

Is this a good motor for my first 1/8 scale motor, I dont want to spend to much on a motor till I know im going to like 1/8 scale racing. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=OFN51210

I had a picco in a 10th scale truck and it always ran good

Not a super strong motor by any means but a solid motor. Good choice as a starter engine.
