The black plastic holders were meant for the old CR kit, which had two metal disc brakes, The new fiber brakes on the FTE don't need them, some say that when the car is at a 45 degree angle the brakes drag, but i've never really noticed anything. When setting up your brakes, use some calipers to measure the thickness of each brake rotor then add .5mm to your original number, and use that as your gap in between the two calipers...
I compared my FTE's sqaut plate and its the same as the new one. 2 deg.

I don't have that on mine but if the bearings will fit where the bushings go I would definately use the bearings

I know guys, I need to change my avitar! LOL .... I will as soon as I have time to paint a body for my jammin!

thanks for the info scuba, I thought that the bearings would be better, but now I have a little problem!!! the brass bushing that came on the king headz ackerman plate are tight as hell!! and I don't know a safe way to get them out with out damaging the ackerman plate. Should I just mount the plate with the brass bushings???? " I mean if they came on the plate they must be good"

Now I'm comfused but I still love my jammin

If you can't get them out then just leave them in, like you said they wouldn't come with it if they weren't any good.

I agree, use them until they wear out, then replace them with bearings.

Hi Norman2cycle,
I personal haven't seen it happen but I have heard that the bearings can break during hard crashes, therefore I would leave the bushings in and see how they wear. if slop develops you can always replace them with bearings at that stage. just my 2 cent

I have that plate, looks and works great. I switched to it because i was breaking the flange on the bearings that are in the stocker. It feels just as smooth as the bearings and will probably be more durable...maybe just add a drop of oil in them every once in a while...
