GRP tires are pretty hot at the moment- Grips, Jollies, etc.

Panther Switch 2.0's, ProLine M3 Inside Jobs and Crime Fighters are also good.

Got a question, are the shocks on the Jammin Buggy "Big Bore"? Like the Mugen mbx5.
Thanks.

From my experience, the "Rippers" are too hard in compound. It's no where near the "Proline M2" compound tires. They have that "fake" feel to them.

Wow, I had a totally different experience with the rippers. I mounted them on the kit included wheels with racers edge blue molded foams, and they were hooking like crazy. Our track is very dry and dusty, if you get out of the groove forget it, and this tire/foam setup may be the best i've tried yet (for our track, without watering). As far as the rubber not being soft, I don't know but these things were worn out in less than 10 tanks. That seems pretty soft to me. I got another set to experiment with.

Arghh the best all around tires are the Proline CF in M2 and the Panther KII's in soft. Either one of those will work at just about any track.

I second Speedbump's suggestion. M2 Crime's or KII Softs are the way to go. those are the only two tires I ever try anymore.

i use the stock rippers as crime fighters on really tacky tracks where you already have gobs of traction. i bought the kit in October and the tires are still in great shape, must be a really hard compound. but the foams are obviously beat, so they are only worth bashing now.

Don't get me wrong Jared, I use them just like "macnkitty2002" does on crappy surfaces. Using the rippers with blue molded Racers Edge foam inserts gave the tire a center bulge which limited how much contact patch on the track. My experience tells me to just bite the cost of replacing my tire/foam setup all the time. I like the durability of the RE blue foams but the OEM foams tend to do the job better. Was this subject was covered before? Sorry for repost.

In a nut shell yes that is how it goes. It does however some what depend on the track surface. I have had KII's med soft wear faster then soft on some tracks. IMO the harder the compound the less the performance is. As an example if I am at a race where the CF in M2 are really hooked up but they are only lasting two five min heats I will change to XTM's for the 20 or 30 min main.

If a track is really blown out diffinetly use the hardest compound tires you have. I do keep my rippers for conditions like this because they are decent tires that don't seem to wear out. I've replaced the foams twice in the rippers I got with my kit last july and they still have decent tread.

Well I went to the track today. Man let me tell you I am sold on jammin. It is a huge improvement from my past buggies. I could tell what the buggy did. This is the first day that I actuall got to drive it hard. I had a blast. I was the only 8th scale there the others had problems. They asked me if I wanted to race with truggies or MT's I went with the truggies and I got second out of ten. Not bad I dont think. Also the jp-2 is a screamery(sp?). I ran the jp-1 i was happy put the jp-2 on and holy sh!t what a power difference. Sorry for the rant. I am just happy that I actually got a 8th scale I really really like.
