just got my new x1-cr fte and was wondering what servo's are recomended for sterring and throttle.My 1st 1/8th scale buggy so i need some pointers.I have a hi-tech 5998tg for steering in my crt but that seems like it might be overkill for the buggy?I want something of good quality and not overkill.any recomendations are appreciated.
The one i use for my throttle is like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AIRTRONICS-94...QQcmdZViewItem
The one i use for my Steering is this one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SANWA-AIRTRON...QQcmdZViewItem
I've been using them for about 6 months and they are awesome!
Bettre than any Hitec will ever be.
I have guys at my club using these also and have been for over a year flawlessly and they are winning races too so they must work well.

The reason I asked that question above is this;
Airtronics has a 90 day warranty.
Futaba has a 90 day warranty.
JR has a 3 year warranty.
All three companies make a good servo but the 3 year warranty from JR makes the choice a no brainer for me.
I use to use all Airtronics servos in my RC cars, mostly 358’s, I had 10+. I got one for Xmas one year and did not actually use it until about 5months later. It died at the second race it was used for; it was at the Midwest gas champs. I sent it in and they said it was beyond repair. Something inside got stuck and it burned up! They asked how long I have had it and told them about 5 months. They then told me it was out of warranty. I replied, so now what? I thought they had a 1yr warranty. They said they would sell me one at cost. I thought to myself that’s cool and then asked how much that was and the guy said it would be about 95 bucks. I told him I could by one on the street for that much so that was not much help so I told him just to keep it and that I would never buy another Airtronics servo again. I have since been using JR servos. One of the JR servos I bought had a slight problem. It was having a hard time finding center. It was an 8800S. I sent it in and two days later talked to them and they asked me what I was using it for and I told them it was for a 1/8 buggy. They said they would send me the new model (9000S) for 5 bucks, I said deal! I have never had a problem since.
To be fair here to Airtronics I did get a phone call about 2 months after that from a supervisor at Airtronics that asked me about the problem I had and they ended up sending me a new servo. I still felt the whole deal was not right since I felt the servo dying was not the fault of anything I did or how I used it. I kept is for a backup.

JR Rocks, that is all the radio equiptment I buy for myself anymore......
My Daughter has an MX-3 (FM) and Futaba 9402 on her FT GT, but I only got that cause it was cheap and we didn't have much money at the time... She will get my XS3 pro once I get my Z1...... but my 9000s stays in the buggy until JR releases a better digital replacement.......

IMPACTPLAYR the 9000S series is going to be hard to beat for JR, I don't know what they could do to make them any better.

There's really no hiccups in the assembly process- this differs from kit to kit, though. Take your time, make sure everything is installed CORRECTLY.
