I've never actually seen a case specfically for this temp gun. What I did was checked the cell phone stores / kiosks at my local mall. They had multiple racks of various cases.
I found one for a Sprint / Nextel I335 / I365 phone that fit great...even has a removable swivel belt clip. The only part of the case that really sticks out is the nose. Everything else is nicely protected. It looks a lot like this one, but with a different clip. Basically, it's a good, tight fit, and the sensor sticks out of the opening that would be for the charging cord on the cell phone. If you want, I'll snap a picture of mine when I go home for lunch today. |
Stubbs, thanks for the info. Yeah, a few pictures of the gun in the case would be very helpful thanks.

Crap! I knew I forgot to do something.....I just went home for lunch and completely forgot to take a picture of it.
I'll get it this afternnoon....sorry. |
They used to make leather cases specifically for the exergen but im not sure if they are still made or not

most of the searches I attempted on Google for a case ended up on some Medical equipment site because Exergen equipment is for that. I just cant believe that such an expensive piece doesn't have a killer case. :flaming:

Anyone know of a case that works well and a link???????
|
A case would be great considering these temp guns are pretty expensive. In the meantime though I keep it in one of those pouches for sunglasses and in a exhaust pipe box for storage
|
I need something that I can carry like on a belt. I don't want to get jacked at the track.....

Let's see if this is what you're looking for.
I found this at the local mall, but the tag inside says A.W. Enterprises. Googling them turns up www.caseguys.com There wasn't a model # inside, but it looks like the one for an i275 Nextel. Go to the cell phone case section, and download the PDF file. It has pictures and model #'s. The closest I could find to mine was the MR4401/SC (i275, Black ballistic mylon, "A Wedge" swivel belt clip). At the very bottom of the PDF file are the "tuff pouches". The DX501 will fit those too, but I like being able to read mine without taking it out of the case. Below are a few pictures of mine.... http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/w...-18-54_335.jpg http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/w...-19-10_823.jpg http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/w...2-19-44_68.jpg http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/w...-20-10_304.jpg http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/w...-20-32_378.jpg |
Use a tool pouch!

I found one of these small tool pouches to be the best option for use of Exergen at the track. Has a slot for tunning driver too! For transport mine goes into the hardcase for my radio. Should be able to find one at decent tool stores. Do it in person to check fit though....I wasted a couple of online purchases that I thought would work but didn't.

Buddha, can you snap a few pics of the temp gun in that case? Wanna see how it fits, thanks.

Hey ABN, i think you should send me that gun and ill send you my Duratrax one and it will solve all of your frustrations ;). Even swap.
|
Porty, send me your address, and disregard any protruding wires and funny smells from the package...:sneaky:e

Ok, this is what I came up with. I got a "Husky" cell phone case from Home Depot. I cut the flap and sewed in between the cut a piece of black rubber elastic straping. I dont think it is perfect, but it is better than leaving it lay on the pit table, dropping it and losing out on some BIGG $$$. Here are some pics:
