Default OS.21 in an SC8?

I'm buying an SC8, and the seller gave me the option to also buy an OS.21vzb v-spec for it. How would this engine do in it?

It would work fine in it. Superior to the stock motor defiantly, it would have a larger power band.

Would it be any slower, considering it's a .21 vs the stock .28?

.21's usually have an edge on the top end when i comes to vs .28's. The vspec pegs out at 40k rpm and i don't know what kind of 28 you have. I would also add, be wary of buying a used vspec (old vzb version), if i were to buy one and it wasn't obvious to the condition it is in, i would want the P/S and crank in one hand and case and carb in the other.

it's not necesarily the compression or condition of the piston and liner, it's more the case bearings, crank pin and rod.

But yeah, I'm probably going to bash it, run it up and down the roads, and maybe have fun on the track.

Then stick with the stock AE .28 motor, it will do everything you want and then some.

The AE .28 engine runs really fine, holds its tune and for what you plan to do, it will works fine for you.

I've ran the RTR .28 and some good .21s in my sc8. About the same in power. .28 is more "thirsty". I prefer a good .21 (Nova, Picco, Sirio). My $0.02.

I say os engines are my fav. And the increase in runtime over the 28's sinks it home. Bash or race.
