its a 3 part motor mount, the 2 top plates the motor bolts too come off for clutch work so you don't have to reset the mesh every time. once the mesh is set from the bottom those screws are untouched, unless you change gearing. best thing to do is take motor mount out from bottom of chassis, loosen the 4 screws that hold the brackets to the top of the mount then bolt up the motor. tighten the 4 screws on the brackets then install mount/motor and set mesh.

the engine won't fit. you need a big block engine that has standard big block mounts.

The pullstart plate on the back of the engine is the problem but you need to take the whole pullstart assembly off of the engine until you can see the conrod, piston assembly and the sleeve and then you need to buy a flush back plate and a piston and a crankshaft that will work with the bump start back plate assembly.

The D8 was not designed to work with a pullstart and from what I know you can't buy an engine mount to work with one unless you get it specially made for it.

Instead of trying to convert the engine you have and trying to find parts that may or may not work take a look in the for sale section there are alot of great sellers on here that are selling bump start engines that would probably run better than the Associated engine you have. I run Reedy 121vr's in my D8 and D8T great engines and they cost around about $230 at a-main.

Is the engine you have new or used? If it's new try and return it and get a bump start engine, a good bump box and a battery for the bump box.

If not look in the for sale section for a used bump start engine, starter box and a battery for it.

Madac is right, as the link said its for a replacement motor for a monster truck.

What was in the D8 or did you buy a 2nd hand roller.
sell it on and buy a .21 race motor, when its hauling ass after run in you'll know were we're comming from.

How many years have you lot been on rc tech?
