Default Losi 8 2.0 ( looking for servo suggestions )

So I have a 100 bucks I want to spend on a steering servo.
I've done some research but with to me, a year ago almost seems like a decade with rc technology. Anyways I'm interested in the new spektrum s9000 or s8000. I want a good long lasting servo

JR isn't what you want if you want long lasting. Get hi tec servos. Killer and honsetly only servos iv'e seen last in a losi. Not saying losi is bad but losi is hard on servos like all cars but losi tend to eat jr's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hi tec's have a diffrent style warrenty but prices are lower and they will out last a jr tripple the time or more. I hardly see Hi Tec servos fail, most reason they have are owner flaw by incorrect epa settings.

+1 on JR not lasting long. But for long lasting servos i would suggest Futaba.

Hitec higher torque servos will also last

for 100 bucks look at the Ace ds1015 or the associated ds1015 same thing the ace might be cheaper i think. The only thing for around 100 bucks in a hitec is the 7954 witch I cant stand been through like 5 of them and the stronger steel gears that are in them busted them twice.

Savöx SC-1256TG servo's or Savöx Sc-1268MG servo's; both best price/quality!

+1. What I use for my throttle and steering.
Is your throttle servo decent? Cause if not I'd be getting a high quality servo for that first.

Hitec 7955TG - going in my 2 year with the same steering servo with no issues, my buggy hit the track every weekend. Look at http://servocity.com/html/hs-7955tg_servo.html one of the best prices around. Here is a link for all hitec servo specs http://servocity.com/html/hitec_servos.html . Hope this help. If you are into the magazines - top choice servo for 5 yrs straight by Car Action mag.

I have Savox servos in both my Truggy and Buggy. No issues what so ever with them yet. Granted I have only had them this season but so far so good. I have also run JR 9100t servo and have had no issue with that either? I just make sure my EPA's are set correctly and go out and run.

is this going in a losi 2.0 electric or nitro?? since you just want one im assuming electric??? if so, savox are really nice servos for the money, but have issues in electric cars/trucks with glitching and will drain your battery a little faster, the savox 1267 and 1268 are great for nitro when using a lipo rx pack, for a electric i would recommend a hitec.

Ive ran savox,JR, and hitec. JR 9100's went out usually every 4-8 months, they didnt last. Hitec 7955 was awesome, slow on nimh tho, went to lipo and they were quicker. In feb i tried savox and havnt had one issue. They are cheaper then most high end servos and they are quick. you can get HV servos for like 90 bucks(apox). last weekend i drove my dads car who had 7955 and the car felt slow, same setup, same car, different servo. I couldnt believe the difference. Im going to keep testing the savox but so far so good.

i would say you should go with savox or Hitec either one would be good. Some people say savox goes thru batteries quicker but i have not encounted this.
