+1 i cant believe i raced without one, just get some molding clay (the one with oil in it) not the one that dries out.

I have not vibrated any screws out of my car since i got one. And its just so much smoother

Great tool and you will notice a difference, but there is a learning curve
on how to use one correctly.

This is the one you want

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Wheel-Balancer

The one with bearings have to much drag. You will also need a spare
hub to use on the shaft. And some Lead Tape Weight. You can get the
lead tape at any Golf Pro shop.

Thats because of the rubber seal and the grease inside, just remove the rubber seal and get rid of the grease with your choice of spray lube, then the drag that came in the stock bearings are gone and then its time to do some precise balancing

Im thinking of getting the losi brand myself and it has the bearing... So you mean that one has drag also?

Bearings by design will have a little more drag at first. As stated, get the grease out and run it dry then the drag will be gone.
I personally use the Dynamite balancer and I replaced the bearings in it with ceramics. I also blew the grease out of them, it will spin for days.

Dynamite balancer here too.

Replaced bearings with metal shielded bearings, no grease and it will spin forever and ever......

more of a necessity on truggy than buggy due to the larger wheels, but equally important on both

My wheel balancer consists of a Losi Eight 2.0 rear hub, axle, bearings and the 17mm hex wheel adapter. Built from worn parts. Cheap. Works as good as the Dynamite balancer I had - if not slightly better.

Holding the hub by hand and gently shaking it (with a wheel installed), helps to allow the heavy part of the wheel to settle.

And as someone mentioned above - use adhesive backed lead swing weight found at golf pro shops.

Yes you can fix or modify the bearings in the Losi,Dynamite,or Hudy
units but why? The DuBro unit works perfectly right from the box.
